Today, we want to share with you the inspiring story of Francis, a 25-year-old Venezuelan whose courage and determination have left an unforgettable mark on our lives.

Francis decided to embark on a quest for a better future by leaving her homeland, Venezuela, and migrating to Ecuador. However, upon arrival, she encountered a harsh reality marked by xenophobia and a lack of job opportunities. Despite facing these adverse conditions, she did not give up.

Her first job at a restaurant, while providing her with income, was filled with difficulties. The workdays were grueling, the $10 daily wage was unfair, and to make matters worse, she suffered discrimination and psychological abuse from the business owner. After a year and six months, Francis decided not to let the abuse define her life, even though leaving that job meant losing her only source of income.

With courage, she sought help and found in Hearts of Gold a safe haven and unwavering support. It was then that the opportunity arose to lead a second-hand clothing project. Thanks to this opportunity, Francis was able to find economic stability and begin rebuilding her life in a safer and more understanding environment.

The support from Hearts of Gold went beyond the economic aspect; it also extended to legal matters. Today, Francis is legally residing in Ecuador and has secured a decent salary. Hearts of Gold also sponsored her in the Organization of Spaces Certification, which will soon lead her to graduate and obtain her degree, allowing her to continue growing professionally.

Francis's story is a beacon of hope and an inspiring testament that, despite obstacles, success and happiness are possible. It reminds us that we should never give up on our dreams, but rather fight for them with passion and conviction.
