Christmas draws near, and everyone’s looking for a time to relax, decompress and just have FUN with people they care about.
Everyone’s recipe for a good time may be different, but the key ingredients stay the same. Good food, friends & loved ones, plus great entertainment = An Event to Remember for Years to Come!
Hearts of Gold’s Christmas Gala is in its 5th year and has become a community favorite for holiday celebration. It’s also the biggest annual charity fundraiser in Cuenca, with proceeds going to strengthen the skills and services of grassroots organization and their leaders.
This year our “Grinchmas” Gala is very different. So different it will be a brand new experience for all our guests, past and present.
Our Grinchmas Gala transports you to the classic tale of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and recreates the fun and creative world of Dr. Seuss’ Whoville in the exquisite venue, Quint Lucrecia.
The VIP Champagne Reception takes place from 5:30 – 7:00pm, and will include a fantastic, international art exposition hosted by renowned artist Miguel Illescas, free-flowing champagne, the serving of 4 delicious varieties of hors d’oeuvres (including bacon wrapped shrimp!) and a distinguished musical performance from concert pianist, Daniel Brito Acosta, and Symphony Orchestra of Cuenca violinist, Carlos Andrande.
Our Gala’s pre-dinner hour starts at 6:00pm and offers an excellent space for all our guests to mingle with friends. Take in the sights, peruse the silent auction tables, purchase a commemorative holiday portrait from Jack Hardy Photography and spend time with Santa.
You’ll also enjoy lovely music, see the crafts made by the children from our foundations, and savor the taste of your Grinchmas cocktail selection- a complimentary treat for all our guests!
The dining room seating will open at 7:00pm for all guests, and you’ll be greeted with holiday signing from the children of Hearts of Gold’s key partner organizations. A fantastic 3- course holiday dinner will be served, including a festive seafood appetizer, a robust holiday entree featuring both roast chicken & pork medallions in holiday gravies, and a delicious desert à la mode. (Vegetarian menu also available).
The evening’s entertainment is also something to remember. A Live-Auction begins as dinner is served, and will feature select, top quality items for guests to win, with prizes such as: a Start-to-Finish Professional Visa Facilitation and Processing Service from GringoVisas, incredible art pieces, the lucky 1oz St. Gauden’s collectors gold coin, and so much more.
Internationally recognized opera singer, Bernanda Holguín Barrera, will provide an enchanting performance for all our guests, and an animated dinner-theatre will tug at your heart, revive the child in us all, and remind you of the true spirit behind the Christmas season.
December 1st is bound to be an incredible evening and a great way to draw the high-spirited 2016 year to a close. Your attendance at Hearts of Gold’s 5th Annual Grinchmas Gala will be the cap-stone to an incredible year of growth for Cuenca’s nonprofit community, and your participation and generous heart will inspire another year of great projects and grassroots funding.
